Intuitive Art For Emotional Release

About this course

What will you learn

In this course you will learn simple, repeatable art-based practices that help you connect with your emotions in a safe and supportive way. Through movement, rhythm, color, breath and pattern, you will discover how creative expression can shift your state and bring relief without needing any prior art skills.

You will practice:

  • using color and gesture to release anger and tension,
  • calming fear and heavy emotions through intuitive painting,
  • soothing anxiety with rhythm and repetition,
  • melting stress and quieting a restless mind through flowing lines,
  • practicing acceptance and letting go through wave-like breath and motion,
  • freeing yourself from perfectionism and rediscovering playful, spontaneous creativity.

By the end, you will have a set of creative exercises you can return to whenever you need grounding, emotional release, or a gentle reconnection with yourself.

How We’ll Do It

This course was created by artist and workshop leader Anastasiya Devochkina, who has guided hundreds of people from around the world through creative practices for emotional release. Over the years, she observed how simple artistic gestures — a brushstroke, a flowing line, or repeating a pattern — can ease tension, quiet the mind, and reconnect people with themselves.

What makes her approach unique is the focus on emotions rather than artistic skill. No drawing background is needed — the exercises are intuitive, process-based, and designed to support participants in how they feel, not in what they produce. For each practice, Anastasiya demonstrates several possible ways of working with the exercise, offering inspiration while encouraging participants to find their own approach.

Each exercise addresses a specific emotional state — fear, anger, anxiety, resistance to change, stress, or the feeling of being stuck. As an additional resource, the course also includes a printable coloring booklet with simple and complex patterns. This can be used both for inspiration and as a calming activity in itself.

Together, these practices form a practical and supportive toolkit that participants can return to whenever they need grounding, release, or a gentle reconnection with their inner flow.

Who is it for

This course is for anyone facing strong emotions, stress, or anxiety, or feeling stuck and stagnant — using art as a gentle practice that soothes the nervous system, builds neuroplasticity, and restores flow.

Course includes

Module 1. Introduction to Intuitive Art for Emotional Release

Lesson 1. Finding Flow Through Creative Expression
In this opening lesson, Anastasiya explains how creative expression directly influences the nervous system and emotional balance. You’ll discover how moving color across the page lowers cortisol, activates the parasympathetic system of calm and recovery, and balances the brain between analysis and intuition. This foundation shows why art is such a powerful and accessible tool for reducing stress and reconnecting with yourself.

Module 2. Working with Strong Emotions

Lesson 2. From Anger to Calm
This exercise helps transform anger, frustration, or irritability into calmer energy through rhythm, gesture, and color. Releasing intensity on paper helps the body let go of built-up stress hormones and restores emotional clarity.

Lesson 3. Releasing Fear and Heavy Feelings
Here you’ll gently work with fear, guilt, grief, or other heavy emotions through intuitive painting. The process supports the nervous system in shifting from tension to safety, helping you feel more grounded and resilient.

Module 3. Reducing Stress and Anxiety

Lesson 4. Melting Stress with Flowing Lines
Through continuous, flowing lines, this art meditation dissolves mental overload and restlessness. The repetitive rhythm calms the mind, slows the heartbeat, and creates a soothing physiological response.

Lesson 5. Soothing Anxiety Through Repetition
By filling shapes with repetitive patterns, you create predictability and order that counteract anxiety. This steady rhythm helps the brain settle, reduces nervous agitation, and restores focus.

Module 4. Opening to Change and Playfulness

Lesson 6. Embracing Change with Wave Breath Art
In this practice, breath and wave-like movement of color are connected to soften resistance and accept life’s transitions. Linking art to breathing naturally slows the nervous system, easing stress and making change feel lighter.

Lesson 7. Rediscovering Creative Freedom
This session invites you to let go of perfectionism and self-judgment by exploring playful, spontaneous mark-making. The freedom to experiment lowers inner pressure, releases tension in the body, and reignites creative energy.

📎 Additional resource: the course includes a printable coloring booklet with simple and intricate patterns. It can be used for inspiration or as a calming standalone practice, supporting relaxation through rhythm, repetition, and focus.

What learners say

Honestly, this course feels like therapy — but through color and feeling instead of words. It helped me deal with a very difficult life transition and allowed me to express and process what I couldn’t talk about. I’m deeply grateful for this experience.

I didn’t expect such a deep emotional impact. I thought it would just be a creative course, but it turned into a gentle journey through my own feelings. I felt lighter, calmer, and more at peace. it is also a pleasure to watch, you can feel that a lot of love and care went into the course, it really makes you want to create something. The energy of the author is warm, calm, and kind.

I started this course during a period when my work life felt like total chaos — constant pressure, changes, and uncertainty. I was anxious all the time, couldn’t stop overthinking, and even my weekends didn’t feel restful anymore. The art practices calmed my thoughts. After a few sessions I noticed that I could finally breathe deeper, sleep better, and stop trying to control everything. It’s amazing how simple art exercises can change the way you feel inside.

Everyone deals with stress in their own way — some go to therapy, some hit the gym, others reach for sweets :-) Therapy is expensive, workouts are off-limits for health reasons, and sweets… well, better not! What really helped me was Anastasiya’s course. The hardest part was simply getting started and finding the time. After that, it was pure joy — I got completely drawn in, exploring the play of colors and textures. I was surprised by how much I liked what I created, especially since I hadn’t painted in ages. Then a new challenge appeared — stopping! I kept wanting to refine, try new things, make it even better. I think Anastasiya probably saw that coming :-))) But the goal was achieved — I felt calmer, more centered, and started thinking in a positive light. Anastasiya, thank you! It’s a wonderful course and a beautiful way to spend time with yourself — almost like meditation. And one more thing — you’re gorgeous!
